How The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust took an alternative approach to achieving digital maturity in its maternity services
The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust has developed a bespoke maternity patient record, building on the trust’s existing Sunrise electronic patient record (EPR). As a result of the implementation, Dudley’s labour and inpatient maternity units are now entirely digital, supporting the trust’s aim to become a digital first organisation.
The trust has been a Sunrise EPR client since 2006 and has recently extended this to their maternity department. The ambitious project has seen the trust accelerate its digital maturity, developing a highly configured system that’s bespoke to the trust’s needs. This is improving patient safety and supporting patient flow with the time taken to complete some administrative processes reducing by up to 78%.
